  RANGE FAQ'S

    1. Can I bring a guest to the range?

All individuals using the range must have a current ABA membership. This requirement helps ensure compliance with insurance requirements and applicable municipal rules.

Membership is only $35 per year. If you would like to bring a guest, please have them complete their membership through our membership page before using the range.

    2. What are the range hours?

The range is open year-round during daylight hours, subject to weather conditions and seasonal access limitations.

    3. Is there drive-in access to the range?

Yes. A gated gravel road provides vehicle access to the range. Current ABA members will receive the gate code. Please close and lock the gate immediately after entering or leaving. Vehicle access may be limited during the winter season, generally October 31 through May 1, depending on weather and road conditions. Walk-in access will still be available when the road is closed to vehicles.

    4. Can I use a crossbow at the range?

NO. CROSSBOWS ARE PROHIBITED AT THE ABA RANGE. Please observe all posted range rules and equipment restrictions.

    5. Can I use the pavilion and fire pit near the range?

The pavilion and fire pit located to the left of the range may be used by ABA members when they are not otherwise reserved or in use. However, the pavilion is managed and rented by the City of Wasilla. If you plan to use the pavilion for a specific event, gathering, or extended period, please contact the City of Wasilla and reserve it in advance.

If you are simply using the range and the pavilion is not reserved or occupied, ABA members may use the area for a limited period while visiting the range. Please be courteous and immediately yield the pavilion to anyone holding a valid reservation.

    6. Is there a covered shooting line?

The shooting line is clearly marked by stakes but is currently uncovered. A covered shooting area may be added in the future.

    7. Are restrooms available?

There are no restroom facilities directly at the range. Public restroom facilities are located across from the parking lot near the entrance to the gated range road.

    8. Are pets allowed at the range?

Dogs are permitted within the Lake Lucille Park area but must remain leashed at all times and are prohibited from entering the shooting lanes. For the safety of your pet and other range users, please maintain control of your dog at all times and clean up after your pet.

    9. Where should I park?

A gravel parking area is located just past the range on the left, near the large pavilion. Please use designated parking areas and avoid blocking the range road, gate, shooting areas, or other vehicles.

    10. Does the range have 3D targets?

The range currently has 10 permanent, housed targets. ABA may occasionally host 3D archery shoots and special events at this location. Watch ABA announcements for upcoming shoots and events.

    11. What should I do if I notice a damaged target or other problem at the range?

Please report damaged targets, unsafe conditions, vandalism, maintenance concerns, or other range issues to: alaskanbowhunters@gmail.com. When possible, include the location of the problem and a brief description so we can address it promptly.

    12. How can I get involved with the Range Committee?
